Pastoral Counselor

Grete Shelling

Grete was born and raised in Austria and moved to the U.S.A. with her family at the age of ten. Not only bi-cultural she also became multi-cultural while she and her husband hosted and befriended hundreds of international students from all over the world. She holds both Master of Science and Education Specialist degrees in Professional Counseling and received training in Christian counseling at both Columbia International University and Seminary in Columbia, S.C. and P.S.I. (now Richmond University of Counseling) in Atlanta, GA. Grete fully understands the feelings of being uprooted, feeling lost, adjusting to a new culture and re-entry, making new friends, and dealing with intercultural relationship issues. She is co-author of In Love But Worlds Apart, a handbook for couples whose partners come from two or more different cultures. Grete lives in Rhode Island, where she likes to walk, swim, play the piano, teach, and mentor online or in person and make new friends locally and from around the world.
