Compass House

An-Chi Liu

As we eagerly prepare to remove the decorations and enthusiastically embrace our New Year’s resolutions, the girls at Ruth House are still filled with fond memories of the laughter, joy, and tears they experienced during the holiday season.

This year’s Christmas may present unique challenges for many MKs. For those who have just arrived in the U.S., it might be their first time celebrating without the comfort and support of their family. As they venture out and experience the excitement of exploring their new surroundings, they may also grapple with questions about their identity and find themselves torn between the allure of independence and the comfort of being surrounded by their loved ones.

Ruth House offers a safe haven for MKs, providing spiritual and mental health support and aiding them in securely settling into their new lives in the United States. We recognize and celebrate their accomplishments and milestones, and we remain dedicated to assisting them in overcoming the challenges of living independently. Furthermore, Ruth House serves as a nurturing environment where MKs can acquire essential life skills, such as self-care and the development of healthy interpersonal relationships.

As we embark on our new year, please keep these MKs in your prayers. You can also support them by donating, volunteering, or becoming a part of the community.
