2024 Highlights

Roni Lacuesta

As I look back on 2024, God reminded me of His word of encouragement when Paul said to the Galatians, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” (Gal. 6:9 ESV). There are two implications Paul is trying to convey in this verse: The first is that weariness does not come suddenly, but it is a gradual ebbing away of strength when one commits to doing something for a long time.

The second, reaping (harvest) can only occur after the season (toil and labor). I always remind missionaries that our vocation is a marathon and not a sprint. Endurance and faithfulness are more of the qualities needed rather than speed in this type of race.

Last year, we faced a financial crunch, a shortage of counselors, hurricanes, and the death of one of our beloved MK volunteer leaders. Yet, the paradox of this season, in the middle of tragedies and challenges, is that God increased the volume of our services, and enabled us to provide a financial scholarship to most of the missionaries. But most of all God allows us to reap through hearing the work being done and souls saved by the missionaries we served. I am very blessed to have a team in Compass Ministries whose heart is to see God’s kingdom come on this earth.

For this we elect to endure whatever hardships so that the Missionaries we serve can continue to preach His word effectively. I ask you once more this year to endure with us and support the mission to help missionaries and their families thrive.

In 2024, we served 235 Missionary Units and gave away 99 completely free services. The rest of the 136 Missionary units served received subsidized financial aid from Compass Ministries.
